We have an immediate opening for an interior designer focusing on finishes and fixture selection here at ArchiUS Design.

ArchiUS is a full service architecture and design firm primarily serving the in residential customers in the greater Seattle area.

This role requires a creative eye for design, colors and material choice; understanding constraints and being able to influence clients and the team. Finishes can range from cabinets, countertops, tile, flooring, plumbing fixtures, lighting fixtures and even paint recommendations.

We are a start-up so you will need to wear many hats! It will span from working with architects to understand plans, picking up samples, creating a finishes palate, social media collaboration and meeting clients. The ideal candidate can also be able to communicate their vision and influence the clients and architects.

This is primarily a remote, part time position with 20 hours / week to start with and real potential for a full time role.

Responsibilities:

  • Be the 'owner' for interior design and finishes in the company for every project
  • Meet clients at various stages as needs to understand their needs to closing selections.
  • Work with in house architects and designers to understand the design details
  • Create compelling material and mood boards for each project
  • Communicate your materials and finishes vision and direction to team and client.
  • Understand, adapt to client needs but also sell and influence the right ideas.
  • Documented finishes set for selections, stores, schedule, costs etc.
  • Keep client and project team updated on material selections, schedule.
  • Communicate with suppliers, cabinet makers, stores and showrooms, fabricators etc.
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects and find creative solutions when stuck.
  • Keeping up to date with industry and environmental innovations and brining those into practice.
  • Attend weekly meetings (virtually), meet on site and in stores (as needed).

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Interior Design or equivalent.
  • 1 years of experience in selecting finishes, fixtures and creating mood boards.
  • 1 years of experience in reading architecture and design drawings.
  • 1 years of experience in design, construction or architecture industry.
  • 2 years of experience with MS Office suite – Teams, Word, SharePoint etc.
  • 2 years of experience in client or customer facing role
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Self-starter and organized
  • Crisp, responsive and clear communication skills - written and verbal.
  • Flexible schedule and ability to meet at site or store with clients and architects.
  • Able to work remotely, but who can meet in person as needed.
  • Growth mindset, positive attitude and a team player.
  • Authorized to work in US
  • Have your own computer
  • (Preferred) Experience in custom residential construction projects
  • (Preferred) Familiarity with design tools like Revit or similar

Pay: $22-26/HR DOE
