Advanced Practice - Occupational Medici Position in Norton, VA

**NP/PA Occupational Medicine Opening in Virginia**

- Full-time, permanent position

Seeking an experienced, certified, VA licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for our Occupational Medicine position at our Occupational Medicine clinic-Norton, Virginia. The position is Monday-Friday 8 A.M. - 5 P.M.

Duties:

Diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of all occupational illnesses and/or injury.
Prepares patients for return to work after illness or injury and may act as a consultant to identify workplace health hazards.
Examine patients to determine the appropriate course of treatment, recommends tests to determine the extent of illness or help diagnose condition.
Performs OSHA regulated testing/exams to include DOT physicals and medical surveillance exams (training available).
Have or develop understanding of OSHA and other federal and state guidelines.
Provide pre-employment physicals to determine work ability.
Develop relationships with local companies that may include onsite visits or presentations.
Prescribes or recommends medications or other forms of treatment such as physical therapy, diagnostic testing or related therapeutic procedures and appropriately refers to specialty as needed.
Works under the direction of the occupational medicine medical director.

Experience:

Occupational Medicine, Ortho, ED or Primary Care experience preferred.
This position involves providing treatment for workers compensation injuries, new hire physicals, specialty exams, develop company relationships to better understand work environments and OSHA recordable. The position is Monday-Friday 8-5.
