Arclin USA is seeking talent for a Converter/Slitting Operator job in our Hayward, WI location. Reporting into the Production Supervisor, this position is an entry-level, full-time position. The Converter Operator is responsible for performing tasks and duties pertaining to the processing of resins for specialty paper coating. This role is required to know and perform all assigned production department functions in compliance with HSE - Health, Safety and Environmental regulations and Arclin’s policies and procedures to contribute positively to an efficient and safely run operation.
Converter/Slitting Operator Job Responsibilities:
- Hayward site manufactures saturated paper overlays according to established procedures and HSE regulations. Converter Operator focus is reworking and converting finished materials to meet customer requirements.
- Operates a forklift / clamp truck to handle raw materials (paper, drums, totes, bags) and finished goods and production waste
- On-site Fork Truck training and certification provided
- Performs duties to meet the production and shipping schedule
- Participates in plant activities to ensure safe operations
- Visually monitors processes within their area of accountability and immediately correct deviations
- Responds to process alarms and upsets to promptly resolve the root cause
- Performs In-Process Checks to verify production and quality specifications are met
- Communicates with the Shift Supervisor, Technical and other support personnel to resolve process conditions affecting safety, quality, efficiency and production goals.
- Provide backup duties to treater production tasks dependent on converter work availability
Converter/Slitting Operator Job Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Forklift experience a plus or must be able to become certified
- Analytical and mechanical mindset
- Follow Health and Safety Guidelines and wear required Personal Protective Equipment
- Ability to stand and walk frequently
- Basic computer skills
- Basic math skills
- Ability to operate safely in a manufacturing environment; this may include, but is not limited to potentially lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for extended periods of time bending, crouching, stooping, rotating, climbing stairs, or any combination of the aforementioned, etc.
