What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC Technician – Maintenance position at Arconic?
Arconic is currently in search of CNC Technician – Maintenance to join our BCS/Team . This position can be based in Springdale, AR, Cranberry, PA, or Bloomsburg, PA.

Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot, repair and contribute improvements to all in-house industrial controls, programmable controllers, etc., and performs preventative maintenance functions to such equipment;

- General knowledge of CNC programming and operation
- Ability to learn CNC fundamentals, can operate CNC machines as required for maintenance and troubleshooting (G-codes, offset, home, cycle start, ...),
- Mechanist abilities including CNC programming experience preferred
- Adjust, calibrate, align, and modify circuitry and components and record effects on unit performance;
- Remote Troubleshooting through Teams and Phone Communication Required through Strong communication skill
- Ability to read prints in a swift and effective manner.
- Ability to perform controls wiring projects and draw circuit prints.
- Help implement, drive and lead Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) activities. Create, document and lead preventative maintenance activities.
- Knowledge of preventative and predictive maintenance procedures especially for CNC equipment and other process-controlled equipment. This includes maintenance visual control, 5S, documentation control, one-point lessons, and other TPM activities;
- Ability to Lead Small Project and Plant Infrastructure Upgrades
- Assist in writing operational manuals and procedures relating to the operation and maintaining of Company equipment electronically, electrically, or electro-mechanical pneumatically;
- Communicate with customer and sales to develop job strategy/product application;
- Maintain and repair CNC equipment, monitor newly installed equipment, and train other workers in the operation of equipment;
- Must be flexible and willing to come back to the plant on days off in cases of maintenance emergencies.
- Up to 75% Travel required for PM and Emergency Repair work of CNC Equipment
- Ability to Diagnosis machine component failures vs programmatic issues with CNC code.
- Knowledge of Electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic prints
Basic Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1 years of experience in Manufacturing Maintenance
- Must have some knowledge of machine operations
- Ability to read electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic prints in a swift and effective manner
- Ability to perform controls wiring projects and draw circuit prints
- Knowledge of CNC mechanical operations and performance, electrical systems controls, power supplies, sensors including proximity sensors and photo eyes
- Knowledge of Siemens and Allen Bradley PLC’s and drives including A/C and D/C among others, servos.
- Knowledge of servo drives for controls systems
- Knowledge of electrical circuitry with the ability to troubleshoot failed cards and system components;
- Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Two-year associate degree or a completed journeyman program in related field;
- CNC experience; programming experience.
- PLC controls experience
- Ability to learn CNC fundamentals, operating CNC machines as required for maintenance and troubleshooting (G-codes, offset, home, cycle start, etc.)
- Ability to learn and assist with machine alignment and calibration (laser interferometer, spindle analyzer, ball-bar, machine leveling, vibration analyzer, servo error and mechanical alignment.
