What are the responsibilities and job description for the AutoCAD Drafter position at Arcosa Brand?
Meyer Utility Structures, an Arcosa subsidiary, is searching for an AutoCAD Drafter for our Bay Minette, AL office. Under the supervision of the Plant Manager and the Director of Engineering, the AutoCAD Drafter will prepare fabrication drawings of concrete pole structures. This individual will be working from verbal and written instructions, marked prints, sketches and engineering design calculations.

What You’ll Do:
- Acquire job skills and learn policies and procedures to complete routine task.
- Ability to follow oral or simple written instructions and procedures
- Support the Plant Manager and Project Managers to improve:
- On-time delivery
- Quality of drawings
- Prepare all fabrication drawings of concrete pole structures using AutoCAD
- Discuss project requirements directly with persons for whom the work is being done
- Work with fabrication facilities to resolve any problems that may arise during fabrication
- Perform other duties and accept responsibilities to ensure the overall success of the department
- Prepare drawings on a computer system under minimum supervision, working from verbal and written instruction, marked prints, sketches and engineering design calculations
- Learn customer requirements as shown on specifications and drawings
- Communicate professionally to customer and plant operations
- Work independently as a problem solver
- Other duties as assigned
What You’ll Need:
- Associates Degree or equivalent
- Proficient in the use of AutoCAD
- Basic understanding of drafting standards (dimensioning, etc.)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
- Demonstrate ability to communicate ideas both verbal and written
- Ability to learn and understand customer requirements shown on specifications and drawings related to modeling
