Floater Job Description
Summary/Objective
The Floater and Closer are responsible for providing support to the Lead and Assistant Teachers to ensure a safe and consistent child development environment.
Essential Functions
- Ability to maintain classroom control
- Maintain a safe and healthy classroom
- Uphold confidentiality
Daily Tasks
- Report to the front office upon arrival for daily assignment
- Provide a safe and clean environment for the students
- Actively engage in classroom activities
- Maintain classroom control
- Remove garbage
- Verify papers are sent home
- Properly complete cleaning log
Weekly Tasks
- Sanitize classroom and cots
Monthly Tasks
- Clean behind large furniture
Quarterly Tasks
- Work Parent’s Night Out (2 per year)
Abilities
- Decision Making
- Ethical Conduct
- Teamwork
Qualifications
- High school diploma preferred
- Successfully pass a background check
- CPR/1st Aid certified
- DHR suitability required
Physical Demands
The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This can be a full-time or part-time position, Monday through Friday and hours vary. Extended hours may be necessary as needed to cover staffing during business hours.
