We are hiring for a Designer in our Fort Worth (and mostly remote-based) office. Read on to learn more about what this position entails.

The Designer helps develop concepts and executes creative designs for advertising, websites and branding that’s on strategy and creatively awesome. Part of being amazing at this job means being willing to collaborate with writers, fellow designers, art directors, other creatives, and the account team to help tell the story of every brand we represent. A sense of humor is a must or you will be annoyed by us on a regular basis.

Asserting characteristics such as humility, enthusiasm and emotional maturity go a long way in this position. Beyond being able to adapt to our team environment, technical responsibilities will include collaborating on both internal and external projects formatted for print, video, web and/or photography.

Responsibilities

  • Participating in client meetings to help interpret client needs
  • Brainstorming bold creative ideas
  • Polishing concepts and exporting client-ready deliverable files
  • Proofing and critiquing work presented
  • Adapting to the Ardent culture/team environment and working across departments
  • Gaining an articulate understanding of our products and services
  • Proving an understanding of mid to high-level objectives through successful completion
  • Speaking up when/if there’s a problem
  • Managing internal and external deadlines appropriately
  • Looking for opportunities to take initiatives

Required Skills

Our next Designer should have 2-4 years of experience under his/her belt including:

  • Strong knowledge of design tools in the Adobe Creative Suite
  • Familiarity with the Google Workspace
  • How to operate a DSL is a plus
  • Strong knowledge base of design trends, font selection, color application, etc.
  • Production skills for both print and web
  • Basic concept drawing
  • Creative problem solving skills
  • Decent command of writing/grammar
  • Ability to storyboard or translate ideas provided
  • Brainstorm alone or with others on creative strategies
  • Ability to work well with other staff, vendors and clients in a collaborative and professional manner
  • Ability to work with minimal to no supervision
  • Ability to utilize all hardware, software and peripheral elements of a desktop computer workstation for a minimum of eight (8) hours, daily, for five (5) days in a row (a standard workweek)
  • Ability to develop professionally by learning new design software, understanding industry trends, etc.
  • Reliable transportation to local sites within FW and surrounding area
