Responsibilities
The MRI Tech is an integral part of Hillcrest. The MRI Tech performs routine and emergency MRI procedures and produces quality images while applying both radiation and physical safety measures.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Perform complex tasks associated with the operation of high field strength magnets and equipment to produce quality images.
- Explain procedures and observe patients - ensure safety and comfort during the scan.
Load and operate power injectors for contrast media administration. - Position patients for MR scan using immobilization and protective equipment as needed, including starting IVs.
- Evaluate MR images for technical quality, exposure, and transmit to PACS.
- Operate MR scanner to provide cross-sectional images and data for medical treatment and diagnosis.
- Screen patients for MR safety before procedures.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited two-year Radiologic Technology training program in a school approved by the Council of Medical Education of the AMA.
BLS certification
Competency in components of Radiography and MRI practice as appropriate.
American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT); Advanced certification in MRI preferred.
Must possess and maintain a current BLS for Healthcare Providers.
