Responsibilities
The Registered Polysomnographic Technician (RPSGT) performs various polysomnograms and other sleep disorder tests under the direction of the Sleep Lab Medical Director.
- Responsible for electrode attachment and monitoring of patients who are participating in a sleep study.
- Monitors the patient throughout the sleep study and documents observations, collects data from various monitors and reports this information to the physician.
- Responsible for CPAP titration, ASV titration, CO2 monitoring and oxygen therapy when applicable.
- The RPSGT is also responsible for scoring reports.
Qualifications
- Registered with Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists.
- BLS certification required.
- One (1) to three (3) years experience in a Sleep Disorder setting.
Ability to maintain strict patient confidentiality, strong organization and problem solving skills, communicates effectively both orally and in writing.
