Our UT Health Athens hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Pharmacy Technician. We are looking for your experience, knowledge and patient care skills in our Pharmacy department where you will be responsible for:
- Completes physician orders by retrieving orders and completing the necessary steps associated with processing to ensure quality patient outcomes
- Assists with inventory control of pharmaceuticals and supplies by replenishing supplies, documenting items to be ordered, and rotating stock to maintain appropriate stock levels in the pharmacy
- Maintains appropriate stock levels of approved pharmaceuticals and supplies in patient care areas by monitoring stock on hand to ensure effective administration of medication
- Assumes leadership responsibilities as assigned by management to facilitate operational efficiencies
- Assists in the maintenance of orderliness and cleanliness of the department
ResponsibilitiesEducation:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
Experience:
- Ability to calculate and compound medication orders
- Knowledge of medical terminology desired
- Previous pharmacy experience desired
- Basic personal computer skills and comfort with Microsoft Windows operating system; database and word processing skills required
- Ability to type 30 wpm
- Strong verbal and written communication skills

- Patient record documentation skills

Certification and Licensure:
- Intravenous Admixture Certification Course through an approved ACPE provider preferred
- Texas Registration required
