Job Title : Host
Status : Non-Exempt
Reports to : Concept Manager
Departments : Food & Beverage Operations
Broad Functions : Welcome and warmly greet guests on arrival. Manage the efficient and timely seating of guests at a table that best serves their wishes and needs.
Main Duties and Responsibilities :
- Demeanor - Warmly and graciously greet all guests upon arrival.
- Courtesy - When possible, open the front door for guests entering or leaving the restaurant.
- Customer Service - When immediate seating is limited, record guest names and number of people in party. Call out the name and number of the party when tables become available.
- Provide guests with estimated waiting time. Accommodate special seating requests for guests whenever possible. Seat guest guests based on guest preferences and balancing of customer flow in service stations.
- Track - Keep accurate guess count to ensure proper and efficient seating rotation.
- Team - Relay messages to servers and bus persons as needed.
- Appreciation - Thank guests as they leave and invite them to return.
Skills and Qualifications :
- Diploma or equivalent.
- Host experience in a food and beverage environment highly desirable.
- Excellent guest service abilities while working directly with the public.
- Basic mathematics skills with the ability to add, subtract, multiply, or divide quickly and correctly.
- Able to develop cooperative working relationships with others.
- Able to stand for long periods of time.
