We are in the animal health business, partnering with our clients in the areas of Research and Development (R&D) and manufacturing to produce pharmaceuticals for both farm and companion animals. We are looking for a motivated individual to fill an Animal Care Technician role at our Sioux Center, Iowa facility.
The Animal Care Technician adds value through the following responsibilities:
- Set up rooms as per protocol design, and ensure rooms are properly staged and maintained during all phases of the study.
- Collect research data and samples in accordance with study protocols and Good Documentation Practices.
- Assist veterinarians in observations and procedures and inform veterinarians if abnormalities are observed
- Promote and maintain the well-being of animals including feeding and basic care
- Repair, maintain and operate equipment/machinery
- Perform administrative duties that support the care of animals and site functions
- Responsible for recording information both timely and accurately
- Build relationships with key individuals and contributors in the organization and beyond
Animal Care Technician requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent education and experience
- Experience working with animals; large and small
- Ability to work well with others and maintain composure
- Ability to work collaboratively as well as communicate effectively both written and orally
- Attention to detail and analytically driven
- Dependability, flexibility and ability to multitask and manage time effectively
- Willingness to be on call and in on-call rotation, including weekends
- Live within a satisfactory distance to assist in on call purposes and procedures
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. regularly
