What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Network Engineer position at Argo Group?
The Senior Network Engineer role is a Network – Data and Voice subject matter expert. The ideal candidate will serve as a lead network engineer supporting various organization-wide infrastructure initiatives with limited oversight. This role will consult, engineer, and deliver technical network solutions and achieve infrastructure objectives with a high emphasis on showing results and business value. This role can be 100% remote.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Defines, documents, and maintains the network/telecom architecture and standards.
- Designs and implements the future vision and strategy for the network.
- Must demonstrate the ability to work independently, or under only general direction, on moderately complex requirements to analyze, plan, program, and implement.
- Experience in analysis and design of voice networks, LAN data networks, wireless networks, and network management systems to support voice and data services.
- Advises on the selection of significant components of the network/telecom.
- Oversees installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Experience in RingCentral enterprise cloud platform including voice, video meetings, team messaging and collaboration, and contact center modules.
- Monitors and analyzes network performance and assure that agreed-upon service levels are met for network response time and availability.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, engineering, or related field, OR equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- 8 years of experience designing and managing large enterprise distributed network environments.
- CCNP, CCIE, JNCIS, or similar network-based certifications.
- Expertise in the following networking technologies and standards: IP Routing, Traffic Engineering, QoS, Multicasting, Local Area Network (LAN), Wide Area Network (WAN), SD-WAN, VoIP, Voice, and Video technologies.
- Strong familiarity with contact center applications and VoIP application servers.
- Efficient with network monitoring, logging, packet captures, and network tapping solutions (Gigamon).
- Expertise with DNS (managing zones), DHCP, IPAM, and NTP services.
- Expert knowledge and proven experience with routing (ISR, ASR, NCS), Cisco/Arista/Aruba data center switching (NX-OS, AOS, Aruba OS-CX), and routing protocols (BGP, EIGRP, OSPF).
- Proficient with data center technologies such as MPBGP-EVPN, VXLAN Overlay Networking, MLAG, VPC, Multicast, and GRE.
- Solid background in vendor management to drive incident resolution.
- Experience with monitoring tools and strategies.
- Execute and analyze packet captures using Wireshark and other related technologies.
