General purpose of the job
Coordinate all activities related to raw materials and finished goods inventories ensuring correct value for inventories for ready-mix and cement Business Units, accuracy on production costs and explanation of production and inventories variances following the corporate accounting and inventory guidelines
Individual accountabilities
- Assist assessment cycles for RMX and material ledger for CMT in SAP
- Perform all the accounting of inventory related accounts at month-end closing
- Perform Month-end cost accounting journal entries and closing activities for inventory accounts and related cost of goods sold
- Manage standard costing process for all forms of inventory at Cement(CMT) and Ready Mix (RMX) plants
- Calcule and monitor analysis for production overhead
- Monitor and support physical inventories of materials and communicate any inventory adjustments to Cost Accounting Manager
- Oversee inventory reserve policy compliance for assigned plants and proposes adjustments to reserve (ex: communication of any obsolete inventory, scrap, etc.)
- Perform inventory analysis and reconciliation including review of slow moving inventory
- Review manufacturing bills of materials (BOMs) for accuracy
- Assist with the inventory management of fixed assets and co-ordination of Fixed Asset cycle counts and investigation of variances.
- Review Spare Parts inventory and related obsolescence provisions
- Assist with internal and external audit requests
- Ad-hoc cost accounting related projects
TEAM LEAD RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in the development and strategy for the Corporate Inventory team to enhance value of the function.
- Develop skills and enhance aptitudes of team members through training and on the job guidance
- Develop inventory process improvements that can be measurable through KPI’s
- Enhance the documentation of inventory related processes and procedures
- Communicate openly and clearly within the function and across other teams
Education
Bachelor´s Degree in Accounting or Finance
Technical knowledge and certifications
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel
- SAP costing experience is required
- CPA Certification a plus
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILLITIES:
- Strong manufacturing accounting experience in a public company
- CPA a plus
- Detailed financial planning, reporting, and variance analysis experience
- Ability to multitask recurring monthly tasks and ad-hoc requests
- Strong communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to identify, analyze, and resolve problems
- Experience in monitoring of Inventory Controls to ensure timely of performance and completion of reviews
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
