Title: Buyer II
Position Summary
The Buyer II purchases materials, supplies, and services at the most favorable terms for the organization. You will track purchases, monitor supplier quality and assist with inventory accuracy. The Buyer II reports to the Director of Materials.
Essential Functions of the Job
- Assists Director of Materials-direct responsibility for ordering materials managed by the MRP of “A”, “B”, and “C” class materials
- Prints and distributes shop orders
- Assists Director of Materials with monthly cycle counts
- Directly responsible for insuring the expedite communications boards to reflect the latest up-to-date information by updating them throughout the day as business is conducted
- Responsible for working closely with the production staff to insure non-conforming materials are identified and are accurately processed in a timely manner
- Hands-on in assisting the Assists Director of Materials with inventory storage and improvement

Education and Experience
- Bachelor level degree in Business, Economics, Finance and/or one or more of the following accreditations: CPM, CPSM, CSM or CPIM preferred
- Four (4) years’ experience in a similar role preferred
- Green Belt Certification preferred
- Proficiency with Excel are Word requiredJDEdwards preferred
- Experience and/or knowledge of Lean Principles preferred
- Experience with “point of use” inventory, working in a team environment, the use of “pull” systems and new product development processes is a plus
Working Conditions
- Must be able to work extended hours when required
- Travel is minimal
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
