The Beneficial Reuse Plant Operator will play a crucial role in the daily operations of our beneficial reuse facility. The position requires a hands-on approach to the operation and maintenance of equipment used in water treatment and reuse processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in water treatment systems, a commitment to safety and environmental compliance, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain all equipment and facilities associated with the beneficial reuse of water, including pumps, valves, filtration systems, and chemical treatment systems.
  • Monitor process control parameters and make adjustments as necessary to ensure optimal plant performance.
  • Conduct routine inspections and perform preventative maintenance on plant equipment to prevent downtime.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and company policies related to water quality and waste management.
  • Collect and analyze water samples for quality control purposes and maintain accurate records of operational data.
  • Respond to emergencies and unexpected plant conditions, applying problem-solving skills to minimize impacts on operations.
  • Collaborate with other team members and departments to improve plant efficiency, safety, and environmental stewardship.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance technical skills and knowledge related to beneficial reuse technologies and practices.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree or higher in Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in water treatment operations, preferably in a beneficial reuse or similar facility.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, chemical, and biological water treatment processes and technologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Proficient in the use of computer software for data entry, analysis, and reporting.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex technical information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Must be willing to work in outdoor conditions and be physically capable of performing manual labor as required.
  • Valid driver's license and the ability to qualify for a driving position.
