What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shelter Advocate position at Arise?
Shelter Advocate; FT (37.5 hours per week). Responsible for maintaining 24-hour coverage of the emergency shelter and hotline, including the upkeep of the emergency shelter facility in order to provide a safe and healthy living space. Also responsible for assisting victims of domestic violence and sexual assault in crisis by providing education and support while living in the emergency shelter. General duties include answering the hotline, cleaning, donation management, intake/assessment, safety planning, and crisis intervention. Shelter Advocates assist with the maintenance of all clients’ files including case note documentation and to perform data entry into a data management system. Ability to obtain Act 33/34 clearances and a valid driver's license required. Health insurance, including dental and vision available as well as a generous paid time off package and paid holidays.
