About the Role:
The Custom glass processor position is responsible for managing the local day to day glass purchasing department in the branch for custom/nonstock glass products used to fulfill customer orders.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
· Figures custom glass sizes for customer orders based on standard company formulas and deductions.
· Responsible for the timely and accurate receipt of all glass purchases in Sage.
· Manages and oversees the daily purchasing of custom glass for the branch ensuring the glass is ordered timely and correctly to meet customer lead times.
· Confirms that glass costs are updated daily in company ERP system for all back to back purchase orders.
· Ensuring that FIFO and cycle counting company principals are following and maintained for all glass products.
· Oversees scrap reporting (Glass) at the branch level.
· Provides direction, development and leadership between the branch custom glass ordering and receiving departments.
· Oversees the glass receiving department and makes sure that all quality control protocols on all custom glass including but not limited to measuring, inspecting for defects, polishing and or buffing out light scratches are maintained and performed to company specifications.
· Handles all claims and returns of custom glass that does not meet the company’s quality standards and are not repaired and ensures all credits are applied timely. Vendor returns.
· Ensures all backorders are identified and communicated to the customer service department and that all paperwork is noted accordingly.
· Works with accounting to reconcile monthly statements.
· Additional duties as assigned.
