Job Description

 The Director oversees the UIA’s learning agenda, diffusion of UIA insights and resources, assessment of UIA initiatives and impact, and promotes a data-driven and collaborative learning culture. This includes tracking and reporting of short term and long term high-level milestones and goals related to UIA’s mission, vision, and outcomes, and managing the UIA’s communication to and engagement of the broader higher education sector. This position can be performed remotely anywhere in the United States, but will require some travel as described below. This individual reports to the Senior Director of Alliance Engagement and works collaboratively with the University Innovation Alliance (UIA) leadership team.

 

Salary Range

$67,496-$90,000 per year; DOE

Essential Duties

·       Manages program evaluation and assessment efforts to ensure timely capture of change management, engagement, and high impact outcomes across the UIA. 

·       Collaborates with UIA consulting partners to ensure timely data collection and reporting from member institutions on an annual basis.

·       Works with UIA team and evaluation partners to develop and manage measurement strategy for addressing disparities across the Alliance.

·       Develops and shares quarterly reports on UIA progress related to strategic initiatives, organization updates, and member institution success stories.

·       Produces the UIA annual report, campus and network ROI reports, and other materials shared with stakeholders on an ongoing basis. 

·       Oversees the development and production of UIA project playbooks in partnership with project leads and participating campuses.

·       Oversees the University Innovation Lab and supervises the University Innovation Lab team.

·       Manages a high-level communications strategy for the UIA, which includes but is not limited to overseeing the monthly newsletter production process and ensuring updated, relevant content on the blog. 

·       Cultivates and supports new potential partnerships related to the Lab, UIA initiatives, and other opportunities. 

·       Partners with Alliance Engagement team to launch and manage emerging and ongoing collaborative initiatives. 

·       Supports the identification and development of new funding opportunities, proposals, and reports for UIA grants.

·       Performs other duties as needed and assigned based on UIA needs regarding process improvement, strategic planning, and data collection.

 

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a field appropriate to the area of assignment AND eight (8) years of related administrative experience, which includes five (5) years of supervisory experience; OR, Twelve (12) years of related administrative experience, which includes five (5) years of supervisory experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

 

Desired Qualifications

·       Experience developing strategies and workflow for executing complex projects and initiatives; ability to manage multiple complex tasks simultaneously.

·       Experience fostering partnerships and developing understanding of needs, issues, and problems across organizations and stakeholder groups

·       Experience in data analysis, policy research, and/or creative problem solving. 

·       Experience establishing and delivering on organizational priorities.

·       Experience establishing and maintaining effective working relationships across a diversified population.

·       Experience working effectively in an environment subject to changing priorities, sensitive/confidential information and short deadlines.

·       Evidence of effective communication skills including the ability to present information in a clear, concise and engaging manner to varied audiences.

·       Hybrid work is an arrangement where employees spend a minimum of 60% of their regular workweek at their primary ASU work location. Dean or vice president-level approval is required. 

·       Remote work is an arrangement where the employee spends less than 60% of their regular workweek at a regularly assigned ASU work location. Executive vice president-level approval is required. 

 

 Activities are primarily performed in a regular, climate controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, standing, walking.

·       Use visual acuity and manual dexterity associated with daily use of desktop computer; bending, stooping, reaching and lifting up to 20 pounds.

·       Clearly communicate to perform essential duties.

·       Review of completed tasks; provides and reviews assigned work activities to team members for quality and achievement of set goals.

·       May require 25% – 40% domestic travel for this position.
