The School of Earth and Space Exploration is looking for an Exploration Theater Events Technical Director to join it's Community Outreach Group. This position manages facilities, systems, departmental resources, and content acquisition leading to the deployment of public facing programs and presentations on behalf of ASU School of Earth and Space Exploration. The theater employs Definiti SkySkan Planetarium technology utilizing 4K projection systems that render Earth and space science themes in 3D stereographic vision. It supervises services provided for 350 to 450 events per year of varying complexity including classes, lectures, receptions, programs, performances, meetings, and festivals. This position also directly supervises 4 to 8 student workers, and co-supervises 4 to 8 student workers with others.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree with a major in theatre production or related field AND two years of experience in management and/or production of events, theatre productions or similar; OR, six years of experience in management and/or production of events, theatre productions or similar; OR, any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

Working Environment
Position will primarily work in an environmentally controlled building, office, and theater spaces. However, there will be occasional need to perform duties outside for events. Schedule may also fluctuate due to events and have some weekend and after hours work.
Position will need to be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time during events and presentations. Will need to be able to navigate theater stairs and tech booth. Will need to be able to push, pull, bend, reach, crawl, and lift. Will also need to sit for varying lengths of time, and be able to use a computer, monitor, mouse, keyboard, theater light and audio/visual tech board, and other office equipment as needed.
