Job Posting for Community Outreach Professional II (Part Time) (Sierra Vista, AZ) at arizona
- Develop and maintain strong partnerships with food production systems and community organizations in Cochise County, assist in the implementation of policy, systems, and environmental changes with partners to specifically target the Healthy Community Committees to improve food access and community health, guided by the USDA NIFA HSI grant, and health equity.
- Provide technical and logistical assistance to the Healthy Community Committees and community partners throughout Cochise County, which may include researching grant funding, strategic planning, community development, researching topic areas, and identifying resources.
- Deliver, recruit participation, and organize classes, for the Leadership curriculum to target audiences, maintaining curriculum fidelity and integrating community engagement, trauma-aware principles, and a health equity lens.
- Assist with data-gathering activities as required. Enters and reports appropriate data as required by the USDA NIFA HSI grant.
- Create and deliver informational tools such as fliers, presentations, social media posts, e-newsletters, and/or radio snippets.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
- Knowledge of trauma awareness and equity principles.
- Skilled at maintaining flexibility and adapting creatively to meet program requirements when met with barriers.
- Ability to build partnerships with other professionals, food producers, and organizations.
- Ability to work semi-independently and take the initiative to move forward with program activities.
- Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends when needed.
- Skilled in various computer software/programs such as Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Adobe Express, and social media platforms.
