Job Posting for Senior Programmer/Data Analyst - Cancer Center at arizona
Responsible
for management and leadership of systems programming and data related efforts
and activities for the Cancer Center, including supervising the senior data analyst.
Lead
cross-functional projects using advanced data modeling and analysis
techniques to optimize data reporting and analysis.
Develop automated/scheduled processes to utilize the University’s central
information warehouse and business intelligence using SQL and other methods. Improve
reporting and processes over time.
Defines,
designs and builds dimensional database schemas.
Reviews
object and data models and the metadata repository to structure the data for
better management and quicker access.
Define
and capture metadata and rules associated with ETL processes.
Adapt
ETL processes to accommodate changes in source systems and new business user
requirements.
Collect, analyze, manipulate data to discover meaning and insight.
Performs
analysis using various techniques, e.g. statistical analysis, explanatory and
predictive modeling, etc. to identify patterns in data.
Build, develop and maintain data models, reporting systems, data automation
systems, dashboards and performance metrics support that support key business
decisions.
Design and build technical processes to address issues.
Oversee the design and delivery of reports and insights that analyze key
operations and metrics. Reports should be clear, convincing, informative,
engaging, and tailored to the audience.
Develops
reports to recommend strategies and plans.
Ensure accuracy of data and deliverables of reporting employees with
comprehensive policies and processes.
Conducts data sheering to rid the system of old, unused or duplicate
data.
Manage and optimize processes for data intake, validation, mining and
engineering as well as modeling, visualization and communication
deliverables.
Examine, interpret and report results of analytical initiatives to
leadership.
Makes
critical observations and provides data interpretation.
Oversee the data/report requests process: tracking requests submitted,
prioritization, etc.
Develop and implement quality controls and departmental standards to ensure
quality standards, organizational expectations, and regulatory requirements.
Anticipate future reports related to ongoing projects.
Communicate and present results of reports to stakeholders.
Other
duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability
to create, troubleshoot, and enhance the Cancer Center’s data loadings.
Knowledge
of key IT business systems, reporting and analytics, general ledger
management, and data warehousing.
Strong
working knowledge of reporting tools such as Oracle Business Intelligence,
Tableau, or similar tools.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Skilled in research and data analysis,
drawing actionable insights from raw data and information.
Skilled in statistical and econometric
modeling, performing quantitative analysis, and technological data mining and
analysis techniques.
Attention to detail.
Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet
tight deadlines.
Creative and innovative problem-solving
skills.
Self-motivated and proactive.
