Required Attributes:

  • General interest of state policy, legal, and regulatory frameworks
  • Be at least 18 years of age with proficiency in English language, Microsoft Office Suite, and basic communication skills
  • Completion of at least freshman year of college (24 credits) in relevant study area, two years’ work in a related industry or other relevant experience
  • Must be able to justify why course of study and/or experience would be helpful to the work of this organization and why this internship is helpful to long-term career pursuits.
  • Students must provide the nature and documentation needs for any organizational requirement (for credit, programmatic achievement, etc.) and names of school leadership that will provide accountability support.

*Duties tailored to intern’s skills, goals, and priorities. Opportunity to choose and implement a special project of intern’s choosing.


Job Criteria:

  • Majority of work may be performed remotely, but half of the hours must be performed during business hours (see Term below).
  • Confidentiality Agreement and Internship MOU must be signed.
  • May be required to perform occasional travel with some evening events. Only transportation to the office is required (downtown Little Rock near Capitol).


Term:

  • This 13-week internship will begin May 13th and end August 16th (flexible: give or take a week depending on school schedule).
  • The internship may be extended with commitment from both parties, but there is no offer or guarantee of employment post-internship.
  • Intern must work 15-30 hours per week, achieving a total of 195-390 total hours over the course of the summer. At least half the hours must be performed during 8:00 am – 5:00 pm working hours.


Compensation:

  • Pay will start at $15/hour with possibility of increase based on capabilities. Payments will be made on the 15th of the month for reported hours worked.


Career Coaching and Mentorship will be provided through:

  • Two mentorship meetings with the Director of Workforce Development to establish a strategy to pursue a career in this industry.
  • One meeting with a Career Coach to review resume and interview skills.
  • Two progress meetings with the Executive Director to understand skill strengths and opportunities for improvement.
  • At least one networking opportunity within the Arkansas advanced energy community.
