Job SummaryThe Medicare Network Specialist Senior serves as a liaison between aligned strategic providers and the Medicare Networks, including other shared services departments, resolving problems for contracting and educating health care providers.

Requirements

EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree in Health Sciences, Health Care Administration, Business Management or related field. In lieu of degree, five (5) years' experience in Network Management/Network Development, Provider Relations, Risk and/or Value Base Contracting will be considered.

Master's degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE

Minimum five (5) years' experience in Network Management, Provider Relations, Risk and/or Value Base Contracting with a managed care organization.

Prior experience in professional Physician engagement and relationship management.

Experience managing and negotiating major provider contracts.

In-depth knowledge of various reimbursement structures and payment methodologies for both hospitals and providers.
Knowledge of regulatory requirements with emphasis on Medicare.
Working knowledge of provider issues and competitor strategies, complex contracting options, financial/contracting arrangements and regulatory requirements.

Minimum three (3) years' experience working in Medicare Advantage, Medicare Part D, Medicare Start Ratings, or Medicare required.
Experience with Medicare Advantage STAR rating initiatives and health coaching preferred.

Experience with Content Management Systems preferred.
Experience with value based and global risk contracting preferred.
Direct knowledge of Medicare global risk, value-based, and fee-for-service contracting preferred.

Skills

ResponsibilitiesAssists with the development and maintenance of the provider network, including Health Service Delivery (HSD) tables and contracting summary grids to achieve and maintain competitive position, Assists with the development and strategy of the Medicare programs and services, such as incentive and provider performance programs, clinical and quality engagement, data sharing, documentation and coding, Star Ratings and HEDIS performance while improving the member experience, Educates providers on new or changing programs administered within the Medicare department, payment transformation initiatives, and primary care strategies, Generates clear and concise correspondence to healthcare providers and stakeholders, Identifies and reports on provider utilization patterns which have a direct impact on the quality of service delivery, Leads and conducts Joint Operating Committee meetings or work groups made up of providers or office staff, analyzing and interpreting utilization data for the population management, Maintains an intimate knowledge of the changing healthcare dynamics impacting the Medicare provider community and the products and plans offered by the competitive payers, Obtains and maintains participating agreements with health care providers, secure applications for provider numbers, educate new providers, and provide the continuing education of established providers, Oversees the development and maintenance of contract information, network gaps, and identifies new partnership opportunities, Provides leadership in the development and implementation of transformation opportunities, Researches and utilizes manuals, newsletters, and other source documents in order to resolve problems or respond to specific inquiries, Schedules and conducts required site visits, audits or surveys and provide accurate analysis and reporting, Serves as the point of contact for Medicare provider network activities and supports ongoing operations of the networks, Strategically partner with providers to transform their practices and maximize high Medicare outcomes and quality of care

Security Requirements

This position is identified as level three (3). This position must ensure the security and confidentiality of records and information to prevent substantial harm, embarrassment, inconvenience, or unfairness to any individual on whom information is maintained. The integrity of information must be maintained as outlined in the company Administrative Manual.

Segregation of Duties

Segregation of duties will be used to ensure that errors or irregularities are prevented or detected on a timely basis by employees in the normal course of business. This position must adhere to the segregation of duties guidelines in the Administrative Manual.
