JOB SUMMARY, DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Peer Recovery Support Specialist (PRSS) is an active member of the Treatment Team and provides peer support services to individuals with substance use disorders, under the supervision of a Peer Recovery Peer Supervisor (PRPS). Peer Recovery Support Specialist will work in collaboration with and provide guidance to programs on Recovery Services. Peer Recovery Support Specialist will function as a role model to individuals; exhibiting competency in personal recovery and use of life skills; and will serve as a recovery advocate, providing information and peer support for individuals in outpatient and inpatient settings. The PRSS performs a wide range of tasks to assist individuals of all ages in regaining independence within the community and mastery over their own recovery process. Approved Recovery resources may be utilized by the PRSS in the provision of services.

Summary:
The Department of Human Services (DHS) Behavioral Health Case Review Analyst is responsible for monitoring and coordinating the development of community support programs and monitoring and evaluating mental health services for certification. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency policy.
Functions:
Monitors and coordinates the development of community support programs by reviewing and evaluating the effectiveness of behavioral health services provided to clients. Oversees and conducts the certification review process for behavioral health services by reviewing and analyzing service needs, assuring placement in the least restrictive environment, preparing comprehensive reports on findings, and recommending and monitoring corrective action. Provides technical assistance and guidance to individuals and agencies to exchange information and/or interpret state and federal policies, procedures, and guidelines and to identify problems and formulate solutions. Plans, prepares, and gives presentations, training, and technical assistance, both statewide and nationally, to promote and strengthen behavioral health programs. Assists in development of community support program budgetary requests and tracks/monitors expenditures. Collects and maintains data relative to behavioral health client service requirements. Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of mental health programs and services. Knowledge of state and federal regulations and laws applicable to mental health services. Ability to develop, monitor, and evaluate the effectiveness of mental health programs and services. Ability to prepare, present, and review oral and written information and reports. Ability to analyze data and prepare reports. Ability to develop and implement policies and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:
The formal education equivalent of a bachelor's degree in social work, sociology, public administration or a related field; plus one year of experience in a behavioral health program.
