Preferred Qualifications:
Masters Degree in a Behavioral Health field.
Must be a Licensed Mental Health Practitioner with at least three years of experience in provision of mental health services or program management;
development specific to child and adolescent population.
Supervisory experience a plus.
Summary: The Department of Human Services (DHS) Mental Health Center Director is responsible for planning and directing the operations of a mental health facility. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency policy.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of the principles and practices of human resources management, organizational management, and public administration. Knowledge of the organization, management structure operations, and programs of a state operated mental health facility. Knowledge of state and federal laws governing applicable health administration programs/operations. Ability to direct, lead, or conduct inspections of facility for compliance with laws/rules or to investigate complaints or allegations against the facility. Ability to interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures, and to develop legislation or recommended revisions. Ability to negotiate differences or conflict situations between individuals, groups, or organizations, and to address complaints and/or allegations of misconduct. Ability to assess the impact and effectiveness of programs or operations and to devise corrective measures or modifications where necessary. Ability to prepare detailed reports or narratives of specialized information and to make oral presentations to large groups.
Minimum Qualifications
The formal education equivalent of a bachelors degree in public administration, health care administration, social work, business administration, or a related field; plus eight years of progressively more responsible experience in behavioral health care administration and/or management or a related field, including four years in a professional managerial capacity.
Salary/Benefits:
