Production Manager, Day Shift.
WAGES $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 PER YEAR
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITY
The incumbent is responsible to direct and coordinate all production operations (systems and Associates) to ensure maximum customer service, efficiency and cost effectiveness within DBG Arkansas Operations.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Ensure plant maintains a safe working environment.
  2. Develop and mentor front line leadership to maintain smooth efficient work operations and ensure positive Associate relations.
  3. Encourage through front line leadership excellence in Associate performance to meet customer needs and set metrics.
  4. Through direct reporting team, meet customer requirements through Leaders Standard Work, Process Standardized.
  5. Focus on continuous improvement through process improvements, layout, and systems. Participate and promote Lean/DTMS concepts and activities.
  6. Participate as a member of the plant management team to ensure the plant optimum efficiency and effectiveness.
  7. Develop or assist in developing plans/procedures/manuals/policies related to manufacturing functions.
  8. Play a key role in establishing plant policies and procedures in conjunction with management and implement policies, production standards, quality and safety programs with assistance from other Managers.
  9. Develop and implement capital plans to modernize manufacturing processes regarding cost reduction or efficiency improvement projects.
  10. Work closely with Engineering to ensure new processes and tooling optimize manufacturing capabilities.
  11. Play a key role in resolving personnel, equipment, material and quality issues as related to Production.
  12. Responsible to ensure high 5S standards are maintained and principles are part of daily plant operation.
  13. Develop and adhere to plant budgets & TS16949 procedures.
  14. Prepare reports as required and participate in meetings.
  15. Ensure the smooth flow of all plant operations, troubleshoots and solves problems.
  16. Coordinates production planning, control and scheduling.
  17. Ensure efficient utilization of equipment, facility and process optimization.
  18. Responsible for 100% production attainment.
  19. Responsible for direct labor efficiencies. 92%t.
  20. With HR support, ensure the right person is in the right job at the right time.
  21. Responsible to have all production positions 100% cross trained with job rotation implemented.
  22. Overtime: Adhere to and enforce established Overtime targets - Submit request for approval of all overtime daily. Submit request for approval of weekend Overtime in advance.
  23. Production Manager is responsible and accountable for production reporting. Hours entry, Quantities entry and Downtime Code entry etc. Access Associates and arrange training as required.
  24. Use ERP System to Access Production schedule attainment and shop floor data accuracy.
  25. Prepare LSW matrix as a tool to plan and measure standard work and submit to GM once per week.

EDUCATION REQUIRED
Engineering degree/Business degree an asset. Post-secondary education and/or technical background in plant related activities- DBG experience equivalent Proven continued development of Leadership skills.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
DTMS = Experience working in a Lean/TPS work environment
Proven and progressive people leadership experience in a production/plant environment.
Knowledge of production procedures, fabrication, welding, stamping, ERP.
Knowledge of accounting and costing.

RELATIONSHIPS WITH OTHERS
Must have the ability to supervise and motivate people internally.
Always act in a professional manner.
Must have good communication skills.
Innovative, flexible individual.

COMPLEXITY OF TASKS
Must have good analytical skills to solve problems and make decisions that impact the plant, processes and personnel. Constant analysis of forecasts and impact on business.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
Directly supervises Production Supervisors. Indirectly supervises all Associates in Production Operations.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES
Hands on use of computer and related systems. Excellent time management and problem-solving skills. Travel between facilities and to customer/suppliers as required.
