What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant position at Arkansas Otolaryngology Center?
Arkansas Otolaryngology Center, one of Arkansas’ leading private ENT clinics, is currently seeking to fill a position of Medical Assistant. The duties and responsibilities for this open position are as follows:
- Working with Arkansas Otolaryngology Center’s Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRN) to verify patient medical history and confirm patient purpose for visit.
- Prepares patients for examination which may include taking height, weight, blood pressure, and possible directing to pre-visit testing.
- Assisting in office procedures.
- Fields phone calls for clinician and counsel/follow up with patients as needed.
- Places and maintains orders and results for closed-loop patient care.
- Obtains prior authorizations based on insurance requirements.
- Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards established by Arkansas Otolaryngology Center through local, state, and federal protocols.
- Updates job proficiency be participating in knowledge-based growth opportunities.
- Enhance practice reputation by providing great care, while serving Arkansas Otolaryngology Center’s patients with a focus on service.
- Knowledge of NextGen Health Record a plus, but not required.
The position will be Thursday-Friday from 7:45am to approximately 5pm.
