Arkema Inc. is actively recruiting for an I/E Technicianto support our Beaumont facility.At Arkema,Shippers report directly to the Head Shipper and has no direct subordinates.
This position is responsible for, but not limited to:
- Rail, Truck and Cylinder Loading Operations:
- Perform the daily task of making sure all logistical needs are met in the Beaumont plant, with the authority to affect material logistics, up to and including production capacity and quality, and maintenance activities on the rail.
- Maintaining the shipping department at 100% compliance with all applicable environmental and safety laws, regulations, and permit requirements.
- Coordinating personnel assignments and material line-ups for daily logistic needs with Head Shipper
- Responsible for the movement, weighing, and spotting of rail cars, trailers, and cylinders with the use of a Track mobile, Ottawa tractor, or forklift depending on container.
- Perform pre-load inspections. This is comprised of checking that safety pins are in place;there are no leaks on the liquid, vent, orsafety valves;verify rail car, trailer, or cylinder numbering;and ensure placarding is correct and DOT inspections are up to date.
- Connecting and pressure testing of liquid lines, vent lines, and blind flanges.
- Ensure the proper lineup of spheres, tanks, pumps, and valves for the movement of material to rail car, trailer, or cylinder is correct.
- Perform post-loading inspections and all related paper work.
- Responsible for monitoring flows to confirm status of loading process to ensure proper weights of containers.
- Coordinate with maintenance for equipment operation with planned and unplanned maintenance activities.
- Manages logistics of waste generated from the units and related processes and responds, as needed, to emergencies dealing with generated waste.
- Responsible in assisting in emergencies by of isolating equipment, containing releases, communicating with outside assistance, etc. during a logistics related emergency.
- Responsible for reviewing of any alarms at a frequency that provides for the identification of any unresolved issues or potentially broader issues indicated by recurring alarms or alarm patterns.
- Secondary/Support Activities: Additionally responsible for or assisting in the completion of the following tasks:
- Assist in and/or coordinatetraining of all Shippers.
- Required to stay current on all loading, unloading, inspections, safety, environmental, and DOT procedures and regulations with routine loading operations and re-certification through a formal training plan.
- Responsible for appropriate housekeeping at loading and storage areas.
- Responsible for initiating or participating safety chats.
- Provides rail related technical support to Head Shipper, process operators, and production and maintenance engineers.
- HSE responsibilities include, but are not restricted to, those outlined in leadership expectations such as reporting any incident in a timely manner.
- Complete all assigned equipment inspections.
To be considered for this role, the following is required:
- Minimum 4 years experience
- Provide direction/train Shippers
- Qualified on all shipping duties
- Experienced with all aspects of loading, unloading, weighing, spotting, inspections, and emergencies
- Good organizational skills
- Verbal and written communications skills required for effective interfacing
