What We Are Looking for:
At least 2-5 years of paralegal experience with working knowledge of the rules of procedure.
Strong interpersonal communication skills, with a professional and courteous demeanor.
Excellent written, verbal, organizational, and analytical skills, with strong attention to detail.
Ability to prepare, proofread, and finalize a wide range of legal documents, such as pleadings, discovery responses and document production, contracts, demand letters, exhibits, wills, and probate filings.
Capable of handling multiple priorities simultaneously with minimal notice, independently and with strong initiative.
Skilled in handling sensitive information with discretion to maintain confidentiality.
Proficient in Microsoft Suite products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), Adobe, iCourt e-filing, CM/ECF filings. Experience with case management software such as MyCase and CaseFleet is a plus.
Experience in civil litigation, family law, real estate, construction, business transactions, criminal defense, estate planning, and probate is valuable. Proficiency in several or all of these areas is preferred.
Job Duties:
Execute paralegal duties with minimal direction, applying discretion and independent judgment to effectively manage priorities and tasks in a proactive manner.
Draft and edit pleadings, discovery, and correspondence under an attorney’s direction.
E-filing on iCourt and CM/ECF for state and federal courts.
Promptly communicating case updates to clients, attorneys, and team members.
Manage the calendar for assigned matters, ensuring efficiency and attentiveness to deadlines, confidentiality, priorities, and protocol.
Coordinates the scheduling of meetings, hearings, mediation, depositions, and settlement conferences in collaboration with attorneys, opposing counsel, clerks, court reporters, and clients.
Handles document management, adhering to the firm’s file standards and naming conventions.
Exhibits professionalism in all communications.
Handles sensitive information and conversations with care and a sense of urgency while exercising a high degree of judgment, discretion and confidentiality.
Demonstrates sound judgment to keep the team informed on important information and issues.
Readily takes on other duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and commitment to the firm’s goals.
