ARM Group is looking to add a Project Geologist to our Water Resources service group. The Project Geologist will collaborate with a team of multi-disciplined engineers and scientists, project managers, and other staff to provide a wide range of observation, testing, documentation services, and technical report preparation for hydrogeological, geotechnical, and environmental development projects for a diverse client base. Collaboration, effective communication with all stakeholders along with the ability to pro-actively recognize issues, develop solutions and seek guidance will be key to success in this role.
Primary Responsibilities:
Testing and description of soils, rock cuttings, drilling cores and monitoring water quality with properly calibrated instruments.
Observe and document construction activities to assure compliance with technical specifications to include monitoring well, supply and/or injection well, and production/recovery well installations.
Coordinate and conduct environmental sampling and monitoring.
Oversee pumping test activities and water-level monitoring.
Prepare daily field reports and testing summaries that document the work being performed.
Perform Phase I due diligence and Phase II environmental investigations and evaluations.
Support geophysical data collection and processing tasks.
Assist with technical report preparation.
Collaborate with other team members to meet reporting deliverables on projects and obtain further knowledge and experiences.
Effectively communicate with key stake holders including project managers, project engineers, and other members of the project team.
Pro-actively recognize conditions and problems of non-routine nature, develop solutions, and seek guidance when needed.
Job Requirements
Base Requirements:
Bachelor of Science degree in Geology.
2 to 5 years of field experience.
Experience with water-quality meter usage and datalogger programming (such as LevelTrolls and Leveloggers).
Team orientated with the ability to perform independent hands-on fieldwork.
OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER, MSHA Surface Mining and/or Safeland training preferred.
A self-starter possessing strong communication, and organizational skills.
Desire to work on multiple projects in parallel rather than a single large project for months.
Requires travel to job sites and, on occasion, overnight stays.
Desire to work outside in all climates and conditions.
Ability to walk and stand continuously throughout the day, often on uneven surfaces with frequent bending and stooping.
