What are the responsibilities and job description for the Principal Software Engineer position at Armedia LLC?
Armedia is in search of a Principal Software Engineer, this position is fully remote. The U.S. Senate Committee on Appropriations (“Committee”) requires the support design, engineering, documentation, and quality assurance services for the Committee’s efforts to build a modern legislative system (“System”). This System will have workflow processes to solicit “Member Requests” for policy and spending interests from the public and U.S. Senators when writing legislation. Committee staff will serve as the Product Owner and will be involved in this effort to build the System. Additionally, the U.S. Senate Sergeant at Arms (SAA) will provide an Enterprise Application Architect and a Technical Solutions Architect and Project Manager as part of the collaborative team (“Team”) who will assist with the design and evaluation of the System.
This position is contingent on the award of a contract and grant of funding.

Required Qualifications:
- US citizenship
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in complex software system engineering, design, analysis, performance, testing, and evaluation.
- Proficiency in Django, Python, Vue.js, and Quasar.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with PostgreSQL.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products
- Experience with database design, optimization, and performance tuning.
- Experience providing technical and administrative support for information systems development tasks, including the execution of technical tasks, the review of work products for correctness, adherence to the design concept and to user standards, and for the progress of tasks in accordance with schedules.
- Experience with government or large-scale enterprise applications.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
