Peer Advocate, Outpatient
Arms Acres is looking for a Peer Advocate to join our outpatient team. The individual who fills this position will be required to travel between our two clinics in the Bronx and Queens. They will provide peer support to all methadone and OPT clients, encourage them to adhere to clinic policies and procedures, manage client flow, especially around times when the clinic experiences potential bottlenecks as clients arrive and wait to be seen by medical staff, provide assistance in recovery plan development. Their duties are essentially to supplement the support in a non-clinical manner to clients who attend the OTP.
Other duties include monitoring the waiting room, clinic restrooms, parking lot and grounds of the outpatient program during methadone dosing hours to ensure patients are adhering to program regulations and conducting patient drug screens when necessary.

Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED required, Associates Degree preferred. Certified Recovery Peer Advocate (CRPA). Must obtain BLS certification within six months of hire.
