Sales Associate
Part-Time Position / Four Days a Week 0900-1500 (Mon-Thurs)
The Engineer Regimental Gift Shop, located inside the John B. Mahaffey Museum Complex on Fort Leonard Wood, is seeking a Sales Associate/Member Representative. The Engineer Regimental Gift Shop is part of the Army
Engineer Association (AEA), a 501©3 non-profit organization that promotes the history and preserves the traditions of the Engineer Regiment while supporting the Engineer Leadership, Soldiers, and Families Army wide.
Major Duties of the Position:
- Primary point-of-contact for phone, mail, and email inquiries and communications for the
organization
- Prepares correspondence to send via email
- Responsible for retail sales at the Engineer Regimental Gift Shop o Providing friendly customer service o Operating register utilizing Quick Books Point of Sale application o Ability to order product and maintain inventory o Restocking clothing and other merchandise daily o Fulfilling online orders utilizing USPS Click and Ship online application o Organizing the gift shop stock rooms (3) o Assisting with monthly and annual inventories
- Responsible for retail sales at the Engineer Mobile Gift Shop o Loading and unloading products into rental vans o Setting up and operating at mobile sales locations (Abrams Theater) o Running mobile device (Clover) for credit card transactions o Closing out register and counting funds o Keeping track of inventory at mobile sites o Reordering products for mobile gift shop
Qualifications:
- High school diploma
- Ability to type a minimum of 30 words per minute
- Ability to assist customers in a courteous and timely manner
- Ability to answer phone and correspondence in a courteous manner
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds, walk and stand for up to six hours a day
- Ability to count money and make change
- Valid driver’s license
- Administrative experience in an office environment and proficient computer/internet skills, including
Microsoft Office and Microsoft Windows
- Proficient oral and written communications, with attention to detail
- Ability to adapt to a changing and multi-task-oriented environment, also involving growing programs
- Mature, professional demeanor, and ability to work with a team in the accomplishment of time sensitive projects and missions. Able to prioritize work assignments among conflicting demands.
- Knowledge of military ranks and organizations (desired)
Preference will be given to candidates that also possess a higher proficiency in the following areas:
- Knowledge and effective use of social media platforms such as Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter
- Basic understanding of social media analytics
- Basic analytical and math skills to create and analyze reports, sales statistics, and spreadsheets
