This position is located at IMCOM - Pacific G9 for CYS Training Specialist, Fort Shafter Hawaii.

1. A Bachelor's degree or higher that included or was supplemented by at least 24 semester hours specifically in childhood development, early childhood education, or elementary education. Coursework in youth development and/or secondary education may be credited only if the position supports youth programs (age 13-18). General coursework in psychology; sociology; physical education; or recreation (applicable to youth programs only), is not creditable unless it is directly-related to child/youth development.

2. Completion of at least 24 semester hours in coursework in the above disciplines, plus additional coursework and/or experience that provided knowledge comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of a 4-year course of study in the indicated disciplines. In addition to the above, candidates must possess the following:
2. Developing training goals, objectives, and curriculum based upon changing needs (i.e., special needs inclusion, current child/youth development philosophy, risk management, accreditation requirements, etc.).
3. Evaluating or inspecting training programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and baseline standards.
4. Experience demonstrating the ability to plan and organize work, analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data and recognize solutions.
5. Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills sufficient to develop and deliver formal reports, briefings, and proposals to senior leaders at the MACOM, region, or HQs level.
HIGHLY PREFERRED/HIGHLY QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Possess a minimum of five (5) years of experience in Department of Defense (DOD) Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation (FMWR) within the last five (5) years.
2. Demonstrated operational experience and knowledge of Army Child and Youth Services (CYS) Programs for ages 0-18.
3. Demonstrated operational experience and knowledge of DoD Certification Standards, Army Higher Headquarters Inspection criteria, Child Development Center and School Age Program National Accreditation requirements.
4. Demonstrated competence in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, the Child and Youth Program Inspection Management System, MilitaryChildCare.com and the Child and Youth Management System.
5. Demonstrated competence in identifying trends in child and youth development and preparing reports based on analysis.
6. Demonstrated work experience as a Manager in a Child and Youth Program at the Garrison level for at least five years.
7. Demonstrated ability to provide outstanding customer service to both internal and external customers.
