We are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Cytotechnologist to join our team in Evansville, IN. As a vital member of our laboratory team, you will play a crucial role in the accurate and timely diagnosis of diseases through the examination of cellular samples.

Responsibilities:

• Perform microscopic examination and analysis of cellular samples, including Pap smears, body fluid specimens, and fine needle aspirations.
• Identify abnormalities, precancerous cells, and cancerous cells with accuracy and precision.
• Prepare detailed reports of findings and communicate results to pathologists and healthcare providers.
• Ensure compliance with laboratory protocols, quality control measures, and regulatory standards.
• Assist in the training and supervision of cytotechnologist students and laboratory personnel.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of new laboratory techniques and procedures.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Cytotechnology or related field.
• ASCP certification as a Cytotechnologist or eligible for certification.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Cytotechnologist in a clinical laboratory setting.
• Proficiency in the interpretation of cellular samples and recognition of abnormal cells.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with laboratory information systems and computer applications.
