The Arrow Fastener Company, LLC, manufacturer of the famous T50 Staple Gun, HT50 Hammer Tacker, other related tools and staples, seeks to fill a new position for a Manufacturing Engineer to maintain and improve manufacturing operations in our Saddle Brook, NJ factory. Our primary manufacturing activities are assembly, progressive-die stamping, heat treating, and nickel-chrome electroplating. The successful candidate will have familiarity with at least some of these processes, and proven success in conceiving, designing, and implementing improvements thereto. Experience with lean methodologies (Kaizen, Six-Sigma), electromechanical systems (PLC’s, stepper motors, sensors and controls), and pneumatic systems is required. There may also be opportunities to assist our overseas manufacturing partners with lean initiatives to accomplish cost improvements. Responsibilities
- Evaluate existing manufacturing processes and workflows to identify areas that could benefit from changes and improvements
- Create processes and procedures to help the company meet budgetary goals as well as key performance indicators
- Collaborate with internal colleagues and external resources to advance project work
- Design and develop new production equipment to improve manufacturing processes
- Specify and implement automation systems (e.g. pick-and-place robotics)
- Participate in brainstorming sessions and cross-departmental meetings to ensure collaborating and cohesion
- Facilitate continuous improvement events and activities, follow through to achieve results
- Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout
- Achieve cost-saving initiatives from concept through implementation
- Co-develop schedules and budgets for projects, and keep projects on schedule and on budget
- Manage multiple concurrent projects
- Bachelor of Science in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Electro-Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum four years related experience, including manual and automated assembly processes
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
- Experience with related manufacturing processes
- Proven success in lean-manufacturing projects
- Knowledge of electromechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic machine systems
- Knowledge of machine controls and integration
- Proficiency with 3D and 2D CAD (SolidWorks, AutoCAD preferred)
- Valid Passport, eligible for China Visa
