The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for managing inventory levels, ensuring the accuracy of inventory counts, and coordinating inventory control activities in a manufacturing environment.
This position reports to the Inventory Control Manager and requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and experience in inventory control.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducts and owns cycle counts, aisle audits, and physical inventories.
- Responsible for maintaining accurate inventory levels by monitoring inventory levels, analyzing usage patterns, and adjusting reorder points and quantities as needed.
- Ensure the integrity of inventory while enforcing proper policies and procedures are being followed.
- Perform movements of inventory utilizing material handling equipment.
- Analyzes inventory data to identify trends and make recommendations for improvements.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with production and warehouse departments to ensure inventory accuracy and control.
- Researches and reconciles differences in inventory inaccuracies and codes them appropriately.
- Completes projects such as disposals, relocation of inventory, consolidation / organization, sorting, relabeling, and repackaging.
- Train and mentor new hires, ensuring adherence to SOP.
- Stay up to date on the latest inventory trends and solutions to improve the overall process.
- Navigate and use the full functionality of our ERP system.
- Provides administrative support to the department including, but not limited to :
- Assisting with open transactions that impact postings.
- Following up as necessary to ensure inventory is clean and accurate.
- Validating received quantities on POs and audit transfers.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience with lot-controlled inventory in a manufacturing / distribution setting.
- Certified in operating material handling equipment, including lift truckers / order pickers.
- Time management skills and the ability to delegate.
- Excellent leadership and organizational skills.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, and mathematical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
- Able to work in manufacturing setting maintaining a constant state of awareness and in a safe manner.
- Able to occasionally or frequently lift to 50 lbs.
Monday-Friday 7am-3 : 30pm
