The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for managing inventory levels, ensuring the accuracy of inventory counts, and coordinating inventory control activities in a manufacturing environment.

This position reports to the Inventory Control Manager and requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and experience in inventory control.

Key Responsibilities

• Conducts and owns cycle counts, aisle audits, and physical inventories.
• Responsible for maintaining accurate inventory levels by monitoring inventory levels, analyzing usage patterns, and adjusting reorder points and quantities as needed.
• Ensure the integrity of inventory while enforcing proper policies and procedures are being followed.
• Perform movements of inventory utilizing material handling equipment.
• Analyzes inventory data to identify trends and make recommendations for improvements.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with production and warehouse departments to ensure inventory accuracy and control.
• Researches and reconciles differences in inventory inaccuracies and codes them appropriately.
• Completes projects such as disposals, relocation of inventory, consolidation / organization, sorting, relabeling, and repackaging.
• Train and mentor new hires, ensuring adherence to SOP.
• Stay up to date on the latest inventory trends and solutions to improve the overall process.
• Navigate and use the full functionality of our ERP system.
• Provides administrative support to the department including, but not limited to :
• Assisting with open transactions that impact postings.
• Following up as necessary to ensure inventory is clean and accurate.
• Validating received quantities on POs and audit transfers.

Required Skills

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous experience with lot-controlled inventory in a manufacturing / distribution setting.
• Certified in operating material handling equipment, including lift truckers / order pickers.
• Time management skills and the ability to delegate.
• Excellent leadership and organizational skills.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, and mathematical skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
• Able to work in manufacturing setting maintaining a constant state of awareness and in a safe manner.
• Able to occasionally or frequently lift to 50 lbs.
