What are the responsibilities and job description for the Crisis & Referral Hotline Operator position at Arrowleaf?
Applicants must have a High School Diploma or GED, have lived experience in areas of mental health, substance use, or navigating crisis systems, be a resident of Alexander County, Pulaski County, Johnson County, Union County, Massac County, Pope County or Hardin County is preferred, qualifies as a Mental Health Professional (MHP) within 1 year of hire.
- Operating as the initial access point for individuals calling the Agency’s 24/7 resource and crisis line.
- Assessing for presenting needs and the immediate safety of individuals in crisis; facilitates warm handoff to Crisis qualified mental health professionals and/or first responders, as applicable.
- Providing phone-based peer support to individuals who do not present as an imminent safety risk that are not in need of a face to face response.
- Providing case management services, as applicable, to support the immediate stabilization of individuals in their home communities and/or to reduce the likelihood of re-entry into crisis systems.
- Assisting as needed with setting up transitions in care and appropriate linkages for those entering or exiting higher level of care.
- Facilitating communication across agency staff and applicable programs to ensure continuity of care and timely follow-up for individuals accessing the hotline.
