Job Description:

Position: Financial Analyst

Reporting to: Director of FP&A

Location: Bentonville, Arkansas

Art and Wellness Enterprises (AWE) is seeking a skilled, highly motivated, and entrepreneurial individual to join the team as Financial Analyst. AWE supports operating non-profits founded by AliceWalton including the Alice L. Walton Foundation, Alice L. Walton School of Medicine, Art Bridges, Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, the Momentary, and Heartland Whole Health Institute.

About the Position:

Members of the AWE FP&A Team serve as trusted partners, working closely with client entity leadership teams, AWE's leadership team, and other stakeholders. This role is responsible for budgeting, financial reporting, and financial analysis for AWE and its client entities. This extends to performing variance analysis, preparing board-level presentations, analyzing financial statements, writing narrative explanations, building excel models, and maintaining FP&A tools such as Adaptive Planning. The Financial Analyst will also support special projects and ad-hoc analysis, including the creation of complex financial models and involve engagement with client subject matter experts.

What you will do:

Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • Lead the annual budgeting process, working closely with department heads to develop accurate and realistic budgets.
  • Prepare and update regular financial forecasts based on changes in business conditions and market trends
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance complex financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, and long-term strategic planning
  • Analyze financial data, performance metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to provide insights and recommendations to senior management.
  • Conduct variance analysis to compare actual financial results against budgets and forecasts, identifying key drivers of variances; provide explanations and insights to management on financial performance
  • Assist in preparing materials for executive, management, board of director meetings and other forums
  • Maintain professionalism and strict confidentiality with all materials, and exercise discretion when interfacing within AWE and with clients
  • Participate in mentoring, training, recruiting, retention, and team-building activities
  • Responsibilities occasionally may require an adjusted work schedule, overtime, and evening/weekend hours to meet deadlines
  • Occasional administrative duties such as data entry and calendar coordination

Qualifications required for your success:

  • Bachelor's degree preferably in accounting, finance or related field, or equivalent experience; Master's Degree or CPA a plus
  • 2-3 years of experience as a Financial Analyst or in a similar role
  • Demonstrated experience in financial modeling and analysis
  • Ability to manage large amounts of data or experience working in databases
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex financial data into easily understood information
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office, specifically Excel; knowledge of PowerQuery is a plus
  • Workday and Adaptive Planning experience preferred
  • Superb professionalism and diplomacy; ability to interact with high-level individuals internally and externally

Physical demands: Position requires utilizing a computer and telephone for prolonged periods of time, good eye/hand coordination, verbal, and written conversation with others, and lifting/carrying up to 10 lbs. Vision abilities required by the job include close vision.

Work environment: Work will be performed in an office environment full-time (Monday-Friday, 8AM-5PM.) The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate. Flexibility in working hours, including weekends and evenings, may be necessary to support operational needs.
