Community Engagement Coordinator ABOUT US : Arts in Action Community Charter School opened in the Fall of 2011 with grades K-5 and Arts in Action Middle School opened in Fall 2016.
Our program aims to provide a rigorous academic foundation while developing the whole child through a rich arts program, a daily socio-emotional learning component, and by modeling advocacy through social justice initiatives.

RESPONSIBILITIES : Community Engagement : Creating and distributing parent, staff, and student information literature (newsletters, event programs, event invites, reminders via website posting, flyers, emails, social-media, phone calls, etc.
Collecting, tracking, and submitting the payments of school gear for students in a timely manner Taking a lead in student recruitment on a higher level (creating initiatives, problem solving, leading projects / tasks) Supporting and following up with student enrollment requirements (familiar with Schoolmint is a plus) Coordinating the United Parent Committee and creating goals to measure success;
Facilitating meetings and events with parents in the committee. Ensuring that all school volunteers have completed the Volunteer application and have met all requirements Creating plans and goals for expanding parent engagement and outreach Tracking and recording all parent meetings ( Monthly Parent Meetings, UPC meetings, Parent workshops and school site council meetings) Collaboration and coordination with school’s leadership team on Community Engagement initiatives Assisting with the application and implementation of community and school based grants Assisting and tracking information regarding our homeless and families in need and providing supports and resources for them Reports to the Director of Community Engagement and Enrichment Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS : Minimum of HS diploma, B.A. Degree or comparable experience in schools preferred Demonstrated successful experience working with elementary / middle school age students Demonstrated ability to positively work with staff and parents alike Bilingual (oral & written) Spanish / English is a plus! WAGE AND BENEFITS : This is a salaried 10 month or (12-month) position with a competitive salary range depending on experience;
includes a competitive benefits package. $55,460-$70,000 Pay starts at a higher rate based on experience and number of educational units / degrees.
Compensation is determined based on years of teaching, expertise and education units; a competitive benefit package is included.
