Job Summary:
The Kitchen Coordinator is responsible for providing quality, nutritional food service to all clients of ARVAC Freedom House ADTC, a Drug and Alcohol and Mental Health Treatment Facility for recovering adult men and women.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
The Kitchen Coordinator will prepare healthy and nutritional meals for breakfast, lunch, snacks, and supper, while maintaining a sterile and clean work area and maintaining professionalism with all personnel and clients.
Primary Responsibilities:
Job Specifications:
- Prepares meals in accordance to nutrition guidelines; ensures meals are made with appropriate ingredient amounts; ensures clients are using protective gloves, hair nets, etc. when serving food.
- Maintain local and state health code standards; ensures kitchen is clean and orderly at all times; maintains a rotation system for all inventory and products; complete daily temperature logs;
- Prepares and/or maintains a food order for distributors (Sysco, Sams Club, Kroger, etc.); assists to prepare monthly and annual kitchen budgets;
- Coordinates rotating quarterly menus and snack items; prepares special meals and snacks for staff/board meetings, etc.
- Monitors residential and transitional living clients at meal times; instructs clients on proper handwashing, cleaning, and serving food; supervises clients with rapport;
- Answers and documents all incoming calls, when needed
- Makes rounds through the facility and in client dorms, observe and document clients consuming medication, when needed
- Plans and prepares well-balanced meals that help to heal recovering clients; provides special meals for clients with special dietary requirements; prepares well-balanced meals and snacks that help heal detoxifying clients;
- Completes daily temperature logs and meal count sheets; collects and reviews inventory; provide informational data on most used food items
- Maintains compliance with the ARVAC Freedom House Staff Handbook and Confidentiality and Privacy Policies regarding Agency, client, and employee information both documented and verbal; follow rules and regulations
- Maintain compliance with all ARVAC Freedom House Confidentiality and Privacy policies;
- Assists with daily rounds and support duties
- Assists with cleaning dormitories, facilities, etc.
- Conduct other related duties as assigned

Requirements:
- High school diploma is required
- Applicants with a degree is preferred
- Prior experience working with substance abuse and providing food services is preferred.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to collect inventory
- Ability to build rapport with clients and customers
- Knowledge of rotating food items with expiration dates
- Knowledge of food safety hazards and guidelines
- Knowledge of fire extinguishers and safety utensils
- Ability to utilize kitchen equipment, such as dishwasher, fryer, stoves, etc.
- Knowledge of policy and procedures
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with management, employees, vendors, and clients
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Ability to sit with some bending and reaching.
- Ability to engage in repetitive movement of wrists, hands, and fingers – typing and/or writing.
- Ability to work frequently at close visual range (i.e. computer terminal, extensive reading).
- Ability to receive and respond to oral communication.
- Ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
Work Environment:
- Noise level in the work environment is moderate to occasionally loud (examples: business office with computers and printers, light to moderate traffic, human voices).
- Standard office equipment generally used includes:

- Printer/Photocopy Machine
- Calculator

- May be required to operate a motor vehicle during the course of duties.

Pay: $35,568.00 - $38,000.00 per year
