Summary:

SUMMARY: Under the direction of the designated Default Account Servicing Manager, the DAS Account Recovery Analyst is responsible for analyzing deposit accounts for possible abuse and to prevent internal and external monetary losses resulting in financial loss to the bank. The incumbent’s responsibilities consist of, but not limited to, notifying or locating customers with delinquent accounts for the sole purpose to acquire payment and maintain the recoveries on previously charged off accounts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Confer with customer via phone call in attempt to determine reason for overdrawn accounts, collect on overdrawn accounts and/or work closely with customer to set-up restitution payments.

2. Track all collection efforts in the Collection Software, process restitution payments from courts.

3. Maintain accounts expected to charge off and previously charged off accounts.

4. Review return item notices and follow up with customers, when applicable, to ensure that the bank is secure from potential future deposits/losses.

5. Notify Designated Default Account Servicing Manager of accounts that are found to not be at the Arvest Bank Group standards to remain open (i.e., accounts that need further research for suspected fraudulent activity, over-the-limit overdraft activity, bank errors, etc.)

6. Turn charged off accounts over to outside agencies for collection as well as updating records reported to outside agencies.

7. Handle both internal and external customer calls regarding overdrawn accounts.

8. Help to satisfy customer complaints and when needed refer customers to the appropriate area so that complaints can be handled properly.

9. Understand and comply with bank policy, laws, regulations, and the bank's BSA/AML Program, as applicable to your job duties. This includes but is not limited to; complete compliance training and adhere to internal procedures and controls; report any known violations of compliance policy, laws, or regulations and report any suspicious customer and/or account activity.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent military experience required.
  • 3 years of experience in banking, customer service or similar experience required.
  • 1 year experience in collections or equivalent experience required.
  • Associates degree preferred.

Relevant military experience is considered for veterans and transitioning service members.

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and to talk and hear. The associate must occasionally reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, or crouch.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance and color vision and the ability to adjust focus.

The incumbent must be able to travel occasionally by themselves within the US, including overnight, and via automobile and air.
