Summary:
SUMMARY: The Trust Financial and Tax Accountant is responsible for the coordination of all tax reporting required for Arvest Trust clients as well as the financial analytical reporting for Arvest Trust Company. This position will require independent judgment and will be responsible for the preparation, coordination and recommendation of the Arvest Trust company annual financial planning/budget.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Interpret and implement all system enhancements and tax law changes related to tax processing for overall efficiency and accuracy of trust services, including but not limited to: writing detail processing procedures and training sessions for all trust associates.
Coordinate, monitor and oversee required corrections for the monthly data bridge between the trust accounting system and tax processing system to ensure processing accuracy.
Coordinate all the tax reporting required for Arvest Trust clients including but not limited to fiduciary income tax returns; estimated tax payments; 1099 B; 1099 Div; 1099 INT; 1099 R; 1098’s; and 5498’s.Also responsible to work closely with administration and the various external tax accountants to assure timely and accurate tax filing.
Prepare and oversee the preparation of accounting duties for Arvest Trust Company, including accounting and reconciliation issues; expense allocations; budget preparation; analysis of performance versus budget; and other duties as requested.
Understand and comply with bank policy, laws, regulations, and the bank's BSA/AML Program, as applicable to your job duties. This includes but is not limited to; complete compliance training and adhere to internal procedures and controls; report any known violations of compliance policy, laws, or regulations and report any suspicious customer and/or account activity.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics or equivalent work experience required.
Previous tax work experience would be very beneficial but not required.
