What are the responsibilities and job description for the DevOps Engineer (Hybrid in ND) position at Arvig?
Position summary
As a DevOps Engineer you will be responsible to increase the efficiency and reliability of delivering new features, fixes, updates, and customizations for software engineering applications and off the shelf applications to meet evolving business needs. Support other Arvig teams to review application risks, provide remediation recommendations, and help prevent future risks by cultivating secure software practices
Qualifications
You are required to have:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience
- A minimum of 5 years experience as an individual contributor with DevOps practices and technologies such as version control, containerization, orchestration, automated testing, and more
- 8 years experience as an individual contributor with systems engineering on Linux, Windows, and related platforms
- 8 years experience with at least one object-oriented development language and related relational database techniques
- Certifications, such as: CCENT, MCSE (Windows Server), Linux (RHCE/LPIC-2/LFCE), VMWare VCP-DCV, etc.
- Systems administration technology, demonstrated by attaining a minimum MCSA (Windows Server), Linux (RHCSA/LPIC-1, or Linux /LFCS), or VMWare VCP-DCV certification
- Demonstrated knowledge of systems administration standards for both the company and the industry
- Understanding of DevOps tools and technologies such as Kubernetes, Rancher, CircleCI, GitHub Actions, Helm charts, and more
- Understanding of Docker and containerization, and the ability to run frameworks like Laravel and other technologies within
Additional preferred qualifications:
- Masters degree in computer science, MIS, or equivalent field, or equivalent experience
- 2 plus years of experience with Salesforce administration and/or development
- One or more of the following certifications: Salesforce DevOps Certified, Salesforce Admin Certified, Salesforce Developer Certified
Schedule
Hours for this position are Monday-Friday, 8:00AM-4:30PM.
Location
This position can be located in any of our Minnesota or North Dakota locations with a hybrid schedule.
