Housekeeping Aid 1 - Strip rooms of dirty laundry and trash, move laundry to floors for housekeepers and stock closets
Housekeeping Aid 2 - Clean stayover rooms and assist Housekeeping Aid 1.
Position Summary:
Respond promptly to requests from guests and other departments. Identify and report preventative or other maintenance issues in public areas or guest rooms. Performs an combination of the following tasks to maintain guestrooms, working areas and the hotel premises in general in a clean and orderly manner.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Keeps lobby and public areas clean in a prescribed manner while following department standard operating procedures;
- Picks-up trash at entrances, parking areas, flower beds, empties outside receptacles, sweep entrances & sidewalks, transports trash to waste disposal area;
- Cleans rugs, carpets and upholstered furniture using a vacuum cleaner, broom and carpet shampoo machine;
- Cleans rooms, hallways and restrooms;
- Washes walls and ceilings, moves furniture and turns mattresses;
- Sweeps, mops, scrubs, waxes and polishes floor;
- Dusts and polishes metalwork;
- Collects soiled linens for laundering;
- Delivers towels, linens and other items to guest rooms upon request;
- Remove soiled linen and trash from pool side and other service areas and take to appropriate locations in a prescribed manner;
- Report missing/found articles, damage or merchandise problems to housekeeping supervisors;
- Respond at all times in a friendly, helpful manner to guests and other colleagues;
- Take up any tasks assigned by supervisors as and when needed;
- Report to work in required uniform and in adherence to hotel dress code policy; and
- Must be able to work independently and as a team player.
Compensation:
Pay rate is $11/hr during training period and increases to $13/hr after successful completion of training.
Prerequisites:
Speak with others using clear and professional language. Support team to reach common goals. Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards.
Move, lift, carry, push, pull and place objects.
Experience:
Previous housekeeping experience preferred.
