POSITION OVERVIEW
Medical Assistant will assist with responsibilities related to ongoing improvements associated with ASARCO Mission and Silverbell operations performing physicals and expansion of our Health and safety responsibilities and goals. This position will travel between sites. Medical staffing during day shift and On Call staffing for off shifts while reducing medical cost and improving efficiency.
Treating all personnel with effective and up to date medical treatment. Proficiently meeting Asarco and supporting properties medical and emergency needs in a proficient and cost-effective manner. In accordance to maintain compliance with Federal, State and company Policy. A focus on Incorporating the ASARCO MRT with the safety and health team to lead our team into the team based best practices.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
· Responsible for daily coordination of on-site health services, workers compensation clerical work, injury management and FFD return to work programs.
· Assessing & providing first aid to injured/sick employees per doctors written orders.
· Assisting RN with first aid medical treatment of on-the-job injuries.
· Create and/or maintain new & existing employee medical files.
· Daily working in the clinic setting performing medical monitoring and assessments.
· Updating Employee medicine lists when provided by employee while utilizing case management to ensure employee safety.
· Administer audiometric testing to employees including calibrate daily and maintain calibration records. Maintain/file Audio testing records. Schedule for Technician to come out for Annual Calibrations
· Administer Respirator and PFT testing to employees in accordance with medical monitoring policies. Calibrate daily (as needed ) and maintain calibration records. Maintain/file testing records. Send out for Annual Calibration.
· Blood draws (per doctor orders).
· Submit testing records to company doctor for review.
· Schedule employees for visits with company doctor regarding testing if doctor orders.
· Scheduling.
· Maintaining medical schedules.
· Scheduling appointments.
· Updating calendars.
· Generate & mail correspondence reminders to employees regarding testing dates/times.
· Preparing / Corresponding / Managing all incoming & outgoing labs.
· Updating statistical information.
· Electronically filing old paper medical files.
· On Call - medical rotation.
· Supply Ordering and assessing clinic needs.
· Interact with peers within Asarco and the industry as needed.
· Other responsibilities and duties may be assigned according to business needs.

· Availability to work outside of normal business hours as demanded by the conditions at the operations.
· Knowledge of SAP.
· Knowledge of basic computer functions in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, and Outlook.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
· Experience Min 2 years in the occupational health setting.
· Medical Assistant certification in good standing.
· OSHA, EPA and ADEQ regulated work experience necessary and other mining/mineral processing related work helpful.
· OSHA/MSHA training certification or ability to get certification required.
ENVIRONMENTAL, HEALTH & SAFETY
· The job requires training or instruction in the area of environmental Awareness.
· This job requires training or instruction in the area of Safety & Health awareness including completion of the appropriate OSHA and/or MSHA training.

Salary : $42,800 - $54,200
