HR SUPERVISOR

POSITION OVERVIEW

Provide professional human resource advice and consultation to the site management team. Provides guidance in the delivery of human resource services and activities to employees.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Administer and/or implement policies and procedures related to human resources as directed by the Human Resources Manager (HRM)
• Monitor and administers claims related to Short Term Disability (STD) to minimize financial impact on the company in a collective effort with corporate human resources
• Maintains accurate and comprehensive employee records
• Fosters a cohesive working relationship with the local union and participates in committees as needed
• Conducts inquires and investigations as needed and works closely with the HRM to resolve the issue
• Assist HRM in responding to claims from outside entities such as local union, EEOC, and DOL
• Assists Managers / Supervisors to ensure compliance with the Labor Agreement, employment laws and company policies and procedures
• Performs Human Resource related training
• Assist HRM in administration of corporate compensation program to include job family assignment, pay equity, position description development, annual salary review process and incentive plan administration
• Assures Represented employee pay provisions are administered according to the Labor Agreement, employment laws and company policies and procedures
• Assist HRM in employee/labor relations to include grievances procedure administration, Employee Assistance Program (EAP), employee satisfaction and communication strategies
• Assures Represented employee pay provisions are administered according to the Labor Agreement
• Assists HRM in conducting investigations
• Provide guidance to Managers / Supervisors in the Performance Development Review process
• Provides coaching and mentoring to HR Assistant
• Carry out ad hoc projects
• Other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Strong Employee Relations and Conflict Resolutions skills
• Must have knowledge of employment related laws, NLRA, and compliance with government regulations
• Strong interpersonal skills in developing consensus building
• Must have excellent computer skills with MS Windows, MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook
• Must be able to manage time effectively and set priorities
• Requires the ability to manage multiple tasks
• Must have valid driver's license
• Must be willing to travel 10%

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Requires five (5) years of directly related human resources experience
• A Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field
• SPHR/PHR Certification highly preferred

ENVIRONMENTAL, HEALTH & SAFETY

• The job requires training or instruction in the area of environmental Awareness.
• This job requires training or instruction in the area of Safety & Health awareness including completion of the appropriate OSHA and/or MSHA training.
