What are the responsibilities and job description for the PM Ecom Advanced Unit Processor position at Ascena?
Position Overview
Unit Processors work in the packing or value added service department to prepare and pack merchandise into boxes to be shipped to the stores. In this position, with knowledge of the warehouse management system (PKMS) and the higher level radio frequency scanner gun functions, this position learns and understands the operation of all unit processing functions as well as case handling. Associates in this position also assist Operations Supervisor in training newer Unit Processors.
Primary ResponsibilitiesProcess air shipments and high priority shipments using radio frequency scanner gun packing functions. Operate and troubleshoot Label Print and apply area (LPAS). Trouble shoots issues with cartons that will not scan on conveyor system.
Ticket / re-ticket merchandise before going to packing. Mark out clothing labels on out of stock merchandise. Sort merchandise returned to the DC from the stores. Pack using Put-To-Light (PTL) system, return the case to the line if additional units need to be packed, or, dispose of/reuse the box if empty. Handle any overages/shortages. Close out cartons that are full of merchandise, and push the carton onto a conveyor.
Ability to navigate Radio Frequency scanner gun. Scan case label using the radio frequency scanner gun function in order to divert case/tote. Scan the case and place units into proper store packing locations. Use radio frequency scanner to pack merchandise into store cartons
Minimum QualificationsStrong Knowledge and understanding of exception processing such as shortages/overages.
Strong problem solving and decision making skill set.
Requires frequent lifting of 50 lbs.
Basic math skills including calculation skills.
