Tasks & Duties (What You'll Do)

• Support Meat Deck Lead and plant Supervisor in all areas as assigned.
• Ensure proper code and weights are entered into the Meat Batching System at input station.
• Lift on a regular basis over 50 lbs. blocks of various raw meat products to include but not limited to: Fish, Beef, Liver, Venison, Chicken, Herring, and Tripe.
• Know how to read code dates and know the different codes used for different products. Must effectively manage FIFO for each ingredient by coordinating directly with Meat Receiving.
• Must understand and maintain all GMP Standards for the Meat Deck to include: Cleaning Requirements, uniform standards for all assigned team members, glove policy for the Can and processing control measures.
• Know quality aspects of the products to be able to visually check them.
• Coordinate directly with Shift Manager on all concerns and ensure follow through on critical issues.
• Know how to properly fill all assigned bins and meet product requirements for Quality Control with Raw Vegetables and other ingredients.
• Must be able to effectively clean and direct all changeovers meeting Quality

Qualifications (Requirements / Skills)

• Must be able to be forklift certified with Alphia. Must be forklift knowledgeable.
• Must be able to work in a team concept and work together with other crew members.
• Must be knowledgeable in all sanitation cleaning techniques. Top down Front to back and understand the ph level and defined purpose of each cleaning chemical.
• Must be willing to use a scratch pad when cleaning the meat deck framework and equipment.
• Must be able to effectively support the team in cleaning the Slurry to standard within specified guidelines and time line as established by management.
• All other duties as assigned.

Work Environment:

• Must be able to work in a schedule-driven 12 hr shift environment with a customer service orientation to support plant operations. Overtime may be necessary as workloads dictate
• Pre-employment drug and alcohol screening and e-file background testing required
• Food Safety and Good Manufacturing Practices, including appropriate safety equipment apply. Job will generally be performed in a manufacturing environment.
• While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand for prolonged periods of time, climb stairs, climb ladders and walk plant floors that could exceed one mile of travel per day.
• The employee must have a full range of body movements including use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, computer equipment and peripherals; and bending, reaching, and crouching.
• Must have command of all five senses, sight, hearing, touch, smell and taste. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. These vision requirements in each area must be sufficient to shift in focus from computer screens to close forms.
• Strength: Must have the ability to lift 50 pounds with regularity.
